My use of social media is compartmentalized. I use Substack to have actual reasonable discourse with reasonable people. I look at, but do not engage with, X/Twitter. I use Facebook to keep in touch with people I actually know in meatspace, or who live in my town.
This evening, I made the biggest splash I have ever made on Facebook, by walking around my town in the aftermath of a violent thunderstorm and taking pictures.

We get so caught up in the global; but our lives are lived local.
